Sewer and Drain Cleaning
After more than 30 years of experience solving customers’ sewer and drain problems, we’ve seen it all. Our expertise has saved customers thousands of dollars with our honest second opinion. From tree roots to grease blocks, we use the right equipment to get the job done. With our industrial equipment and the largest root cutters available, we get even the most stubborn sewers open and flowing free, and we guarantee all of our work every time. The two most common causes of sewer backups are root infiltration into the sewer line and grease or soft blockages (baby wipes, paper towel, etc.).
Tree roots will grow into the connections of clay tile sewers looking for a water source. The most effective way of removing these tree roots is with a mechanical sewer machine and cutter blades. The common house sewer is 6” in diameter and requires a minimum of a 4” cutter blade to properly remove the tree roots and restore the pipe to its original flow. It is critical to ensure the right size cutter blade is used and the proper distance to get into the city sewer is achieved. Combining both of these methods (proper cutter size and the appropriate length) will keep your sewer flowing for the maximum amount of time.
The second most common sewer blockages occur as a result of either grease build up on the sewer pipe, or personal hygiene wipes, paper towel, etc. getting flushed down the toilet. These are considered soft blocks. In this case, the most effective industrial equipment is the hydro-jetter. Hydro-jetting cleans sewers and drains using high pressure water that has enough power to break up the toughest blockages and blast the debris out of the pipe. Water at the correct high pressure can dissolve blockages, get rid of grease and other obstructions, and scours the inside of the pipe clean. The Reid & Pederson team will assess each situation and use the proper tool to effectively clear your sewer or drain line and keep it flowing free.
